Autoeuropa will stop for 70 days in addition to the usual stops for maintenance, restructuring and electrification of the Palmela factory. The workers accepted the lay-off appeal.
The administration presented the 2026 calendar, “which includes significant stops”, writes the Eco. The additional suspension should run from December 19th to January 12th, in addition to normal periods.
The company proposed several measures (temporary closure, reduction of activity, lay-off, AE17/AE15), but workers defended maintaining the current schedule (AE19) and income (base salary and shift allowance).
In the pre-agreement, Autoeuropa guarantees 28.4% of the salary and shift allowance in lay‑off, the remaining 25% will be compensated by down days paid by the company itself.
It should be remembered that in 2024 the company also supported a relevant portion during a similar stoppage.
The interventions prepare the production of the new hybrid T‑Roc and the transition to the future 100% electric ID.Every1, scheduled to arrive in 2027. They include a new painting unit to replace gas ovens with electric drying.
The decarbonization plan has 30 million euros of community support to leverage an investment of 300 million.
